Evaluation of the Intensive Training and Practice Pilot
PRIVACY NOTICE
The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) is funding a pilot to support future delivery of high-quality intensive training and practice within initial teacher training (ITT).
NIoT has commissioned Oxford MeasurEd to carry out an independent evaluation of the pilot to inform future delivery of intensive training and practice within ITT.
Plans for the evaluation are set out in the evaluation proposal and in the evaluation information leaflet.
In line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), there are certain things that we need to let you, as research participant, know about how your information will be processed. In this privacy notice, we explain who will have access to your personal data, how your data will be used, stored and deleted, the legal basis for data processing, and who you can contact with a query or a complaint.
Who will have access to my personal data?
Oxford MeasurEd are carrying out this evaluation. The evaluation team will have access to names and contact details of participants, recordings of interviews and workshops, notes from training observations and survey responses. All data will be anonymised before being analysed.
How will the data be used?
Our team at Oxford MeasurEd will only use the data collected for research purposes, in the following ways.
We will use names and contact details to organise workshops, observations and interviews for the evaluation.
We will analyse information and opinions gathered from workshops, observations, interviews and surveys to address our evaluation aims – assessing the implementation, evidence of promise, feasibility and scalability of the four models of intensive training and practice being tested in the pilot. All data will be anonymised before being analysed.
All data will be treated with the strictest confidence – we will not pass personal data on to anyone outside Oxford MeasurEd and no individuals will be identified in any report arising from the research.
Oxford MeasurEd will securely delete personal information about participants no more than one year after the evaluation is finished (by April 2024 at the latest).
What is the legal basis for processing my data?
For this evaluation, Oxford MeasurEd is a data controller who also processes data. This means that we are responsible for deciding the purpose and legal basis for processing data. The legal basis for this project is “legitimate interest”. This means that we believe that there is a genuine reason for us to process this data (to evaluate the pilot), that this data is needed to fulfil this purpose (we couldn’t evaluate the pilot without this information), and that using this data won’t interfere with individuals’ interests, rights or freedoms.
Who can I contact with a query or a complaint?
If you have any questions about how your personal information will be processed, or about the evaluation, please contact the Oxford MeasurEd evaluation team at info@oxfordmeasured.co.uk.
Under GDPR, you have the right to raise any concerns with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) via their website at www.ico.org.uk/concerns.
